    PerfectMeta

    Hello

I have a disk where Genre is filled in with "Rock" which is wrong. Alt-M shows that GD3 and freedb have "Folk" and only AMG has "Rock" so why is "Rock" selected if two matches are there for "Folk"?

    Thanks for an answer.

GD3 contains sometimes freedb data, for this reason the two have no ranking together, so AMG outranks both.

That seems illogical and the opposite of what is claimed for Perfect Meta and expected by users.

My personal experience too is that AMG seems to be wrong more often than the others.

If AMG had populated it's database from elements of freedb, then you cannot use AMG and freedb as independant, I was not happy about it when I found out, either...GD3 can often be key in selection.

Also if AMG is wrong for you, then you can disable it and use perfectmeta with the other 3, or press ALT + M to manually override. I happen to know some of the largest commercial CD ripping companies (who will rip 1000's of CDs a week) swear that AMG is the best database out there.

Maybe AMG is better for English data. I have some German cds and here GD3 and/or freedb is often the better choice.

            for example:

AMG: Ich Möcht' So Gern Dave Dudley Hör'n
GD3: Ich mcht' so gern Dave Dudley hr'n
FreeDB: Ich möcht' so gern Dave Dudley hör'n

Here FreeDB is the perfect match, not AMG which was selected. It seems AMG just capitalize everything... Here it is just "cosmetics" but often AMG is wrong, compared to the two others.
