dMC Auxiliary Input, XP update, audio parameter change

There was an automatic Windows XP update on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 that took place on my computer at home (running XP-Home). It seems to have changed the properties of the sound system. In particular, I have found that when using dMC Auxiliary Input that the Windows audio controls are either very sensitive (a small change makes a big difference in the VU indication) or don’t work (taking the volume control on recording for the Windows mixer to “zero” causes the VU meter to peg). I have both reinstalled the audio drivers (up to date) and dMC Auxiliary Input to no avail. dMC Auxiliary Input can be used, but it takes much more care than it used to.

Anyone else experiencing any of the above?

Right click Volume Control icon in teh task bar and check the properties for Playback and then also for Recording. Some may have been changed.

The point is that the character of the controls has changed, not just the fact that the particular settings have changed. It is the fact that the sensitivity of the controls, in my experience, that I am wondering if others have seen.

Sorry, I haven't noticed any such change. Perhaps your soundcard or your speakers got somewhat busted since you last used aux input ?
