    Re: Pls reply!!

Not dBpowerAMP CD Writer. It only handles audio files and only burns cd's, not dvd's.

Nero can handle making video cd's and dvd's. But nero will not make a proper dvd outright, you need some other program to put together the various components of a dvd.

Sonic MyDVD can make a proper dvd with chapters, etc.. It of course depends what format your movie file is in.

It's not sony anyhting. It's Sonic MyDVD . Google for it. It may not be free. I got mine when I bought the dvd burner.

See what programs you got with your dvd burner, you may well have one that can do the same thing.

If your DVD player supports DivX encoded files, convert your DVD movies to DivX format using Dr. DivX and enjoy them on your DVD player.

But if I may ask, why do you want to transpose from lossless DVD to lossy CD ?

Re: Pls reply!! - burning dvd or video cd

The cd need not be lossy - it could be Video CD - same encoding as for DVD but on a smaller capacity medium. It would be a maximum of 30 minutes I believe, so a full length movie won't fit. But it's good for short movies, music videos and other similar clips.

DVD players usually play those just like they'd play a regular dvd.

Nero can make a VCD easily.

dvd uses mpeg2.. mpeg2 is LOSSY

vcd uses mpeg1, also lossy, you can put 2hrs on one cd, but quality will suffer. as far as i know, there isn't a minimum bitrate for the video, only a maximum

just read the documentation for vcdimager.. it tells you all this stuff

What are you talking about??? MPEG 2 is SVCD and MPEG 1 is VCD!
DVD has its own format which is lossless....
Malty what you need is a generic program that converts what you have to MPEG 2 or 1 and just burn it to a CD if it supports that or use a program like Nero to make a DVD disc that plays the video....

wow! i just tried out the dvdstyler as i have heaps of mpegs and it worked really well it would have to be the simplest way to add functional menus i have ever seen! as its always the menus which seems to be complicated in other programs. this is just drag and drop a button and assign it and thats it. too easy :D

DVD is MPEG2 video, varying audio. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvd

What is VOB? That is what DVDStyler is creating out of the video files I have as it prepares an image for burning. If I use VideoReDo to create VOB files, will that work for DVDStyler to create the image? On my first try I got a DVD that will play (with some difficulty) in Windows Media on a PC, but not in my DVD player.
