The decoder is in beta (beta section this forum), it still needs work.

So are you ever going to finish an Apple Lossless encoder, or have you given up? Don't mean to sound ungrateful...just looking for a status update.

I'm also really interested in the apple lossless codec, especially since that's what gets streamed to the airport express. justeport is able to stream apple lossless files to the airport express, so that's why i'm particularly interested in it. it'd be a great feature

Indeed, I am also interested in an apple losless encoder to allow me to stream files that are not apple lossless format to my airport without iTunes. I have been monkeying around with the Quicktime developer sample code, but have yet to create a working apple lossless file. I have managed to port the example "SoundConverter" application from MacOS to Win32, but am still having trouble with getting it to work.

If anyone has any information on work in progress or already finished apple lossless encoders, I'd really appreciate it.
