I want to thank everyone who has provided help on this board. After reading a lot of good postings and the FAQ I was able to write a script to convert my files. Thanks.
I have a 8500 song collection of 85% wav files, 10%wma, and 5% mp3. I use MusicMatch 10 to manage my collection and create a export file for my Turtlebeach Audiotron player. However, with the kid's new ipods and a new iMac in the house, I needed a way to convert all that music to mp3 files. Here is what my script does:
1) Reads a MusicMatch export file listing all tracks and tags
2) For every song in the export file it
a. Create any necessary artist or album folders
b. Converts wav or wma file to mp3 file
c. Adds tags from MM file
d. Copies any .jpg album art files
It took about 36 hours to process all the files. I converted the wav files to 256kbps to keep some quality. dMC worked great. If anyone needs a copy of the script let me know.
Cheers
Steve
