Music Converter API under Vista

We're using the APIl and VB6 to automate the Music Converter. Under XP it all works fine. Under Vista the converter starter for each file then stops immediately, generating no errors.

If we use the GUI version of the Music Converter then the files convert with no problem.

We're using version 11.

Any ideas?

dMC r12, currently in alpha, can be automated via the command-line. Just a note for the future.

Are you using dMC r11 or r11.5? Version numbers are in dMC Configuration (Start --> Programs --> dBpowerAMP Music Converter --> Configuration --> dMC Configuration).

This is expected, there is compatibility code written into vista to allow music converter to run, but not the com-object. R12 will soon (in the next 4 weeks) have a new com-object.

The new com-object will be quite a leap forward (allowing full tag reading / writing or access to any of the audio properties).
