CD Writer crashes PC

I am trying to burn a CD with a list of mp3 audio files from my PC/windows Me using the CD WRITER, but all I get is charshes, blue-screens, and freezes. I have tried everything and nothing works, not even reformatting hard drive or ATAPI fixes. What must I do to get it to work properly?

Does it crash when you are creating the disc, or when you click 'Burn' to burn the disc?

Can you tell me about your computer a little, Windows Version and make of CD Writer.

While, I am running on Windows Me with a Lite On LTR-52246 high speed CD ROM. The thing is, SPOON, it did the same thing with my previous SONY CDROM as well.

If you use Audio CD Input are you able to rip from an Audio CD?
