two known cd writer issues combined

I too have the "no CD writers found" issue.

I did the Windows XP compatibility mode fix, which hasn't worked. To add insult to injury I cannot now change the compatibility mode at all as it is has become greyed-out.

I also have the very slow encoding speed issue mentioned here:

Hi there, I have just started using the dCW to burn my flac files to CD. However this process seems VERY slow. It encodes at only 4x. I have an Intel Q6600 CPU with 8GB ram. When using the CD ripper and other db products it encodes MUCH quicker. EDIT: When I convert from FLAC to WAV using dbConverter (which is I assume

using normal FLAC files, normal everything.

Also it doesn't use both cores of a dual-core processor, which dMC does.

I have just bought a new PC with Windows 7. I never had any of these problems on my old XP machine.

    For the record:

    14.1 Ref

    Win 7 64-bit
    AMD Athlon II P360 Dual-Core Processor 2.3GHz
    4GM RAM

PS Also a normal CD/DVD drive. I presume if I had a blu ray drive I would know about it!

There is a cd writer beta which fixes the slow encode speed, and does not require xp compatibilty

That has fixed the speed issue (although windows did say that the program may not have run correctly, and applied compatibility settings automatically).

But it still says no CD writer found. (Mine is a HP CDDVDW TS-L633R SATA)

There is nothing we can do if the writer is not found.
