CD Writer finishes at 99%

I am burning audio CDs from mp3 files. The files are nowhere near enough to fill the whole disk, so size is definitely not the problem. However, every time CD Writer gets close to finishing burning, the "Burning complete" message comes up when the burning progress is still showing 99%. The last couple of seconds of the last track of the CD are cut off when playing the CD. I have tried burning to several different blank CDs and several different sets of mp3 files. The mp3 files are definitely complete. I have burned the same tracks to CD with Nero and Imgburn without problems.

Windows XP Pro SP3; dbPoweramp 13.5.

Try burning as gapless.

CD Writer has never finished writing a CD (gapless or non-gapless) on your system?

Since my last message it has become obvious that I have deeper problems on my system. Windows Media Player and Nero have stopped working completely. Windows Media Player says it can't find any CD drives, Nero comes up with some bizarre error messages, and ITunes causes my CD drive to freeze. I have uninstalled and reinstalled CDWriter, but it still leaves of the last few seconds of the last track on each CD. It used to work perfectly, so I think there must be some deeper system issues which have nothing to do with dbPoweramp. I have no idea where to start looking for them..... but that's not really anything to do with this particular forum. I have installed CD Writer on my laptop, and it's working perfectly there.

Possibly hardware related, see if you can try another CD drive (or swap the existing CD drive to another port).

Hello, If you haven't come to resolution I can help. About a year or two ago I had this identical problem. It was indeed my hardware, the CD drive was defective. I replaced the drive and the world was fine. Hope this helps
