CD Writer does not find CD writer

The last time I used CD writer it worked fine. Now when I try to use it, it does not find my CD writer drive. I checked in MS Media Player and it writes from it fine. Any ideas? No hardware changes in my computer. Using Windows 7 64 bit.

Make sure the compatibility mode is set to XP.

Sorry but I have the same problem, running Win 7 as well. Where do you set the compatability mode?

I am having this problem , have changed compatibilty to XP, still nothing - it says No CD Writers Found in the drop down bar at the top - please help?

Certain Blu-ray writers do not work with CD Writer, even when the compatibility is set.
