Newbie Questions

I have two what I am sure are ridiculous questions, but couldn't find the answers when searching the forums. (nor should I think I have to go digging for such rudimentary answers for a paid software package)

1. When ripping a cd, how can I have the files ripped automatically into a main artist folder, then a subdirectory for album?

2. Secondly, there is a mention of an automatic configuration for the cd-rom being used to determine proper settings, but I can't find it anywhere in the software. Please advise, and thanks.

1. It does this by default.
2. Options >> Secure there are various tests you can do, cache detection, c2 pointer support.

sorry for being obtuse, but I'm ripping a cd right now and it shows the album and names of tracks, but when the files show up they are loose in the target folder, and show as "unknown artist"?

What version of dMC are you using?

You are using the CD Ripper to rip the CD, correct?
