New to CD Writer - CD Drive Error

When burning mp3's to audio (cda) I get the following message (new to cdwriter - using trial version)

CD Drive Error

"The current track mode is incompatible with the disc format"
Audio disc has not been written.

My project is to take all my old tapes from the '80 that I bought and convert themm to mp3 for the computer and mp3 players plus burn some audio cd's for a friend to relive our high school tunes that aren't on classic radio.

Are the blank disks you are burning to 74 minute (650 mb) or 80 minute (700 mb) disks?
Does the menu box show you creating a creating a 74 minute standard audio cd or an 80 minute standard audio CD?
How many minutes of music have you added to the CD you are trying to burn?

If these questions do not yield a resolution, could you be a bit more descriptive about how you have set up your disk for burning and how you have added the files (including any DSP effects you may have added)?
