There are a few scattered mentions of this problem but many of the post titles aren't very descriptive. The problem I keep encountering is Batch Ripper will occasionally try to rip 56 tracks from an otherwise normal CD. It tends to rip the last or second to last track 40 some times and dumps the files into a Various Artists folder with no tagging. Re-ripping the same track dozens of times makes ripping take an inordinate amount of time, wears out the drive in the loader, and decreases disk longevity of my SSD. Yes, it works normally in CD Ripper. However, I purchased Reference so I could use Batch Ripper to perform unattended rips. If I wanted to manual load my entire collection, EAC is free.
Could we get a fix for this? Ideally, this would use disc info to only rip the number of tracks actually on a CD. An easier solution might be a checkbox for 'only rip tracks with valid metadata' or even 'skip discs with 56 tracks.' Thanks!
