    Large no Meta Data project

I have just purchased dbPowerAmp and a Nimbie USB Plus NB21 to rip a large number, over 1,000, CDs that are in-house recordings of various presenters within our organization. None of them have Meta Data since a CD burner was used to capture and burn the audio real-time.

The presentations have various numbers of discs in each set (1, 2, 3, up to 16). Each presentation is a different size.

I would like to be able to put in the meta data for a set (presenter=artist; topic=album; year, total disc number, etc) and have Batch Ripper pull this meta data and add disc x of (number of the set).

    Is this possible?

How can I setup Batch Ripper to create file names that I set, so I don't have to go rename 6,000+ files manually.

What is the best way to configure to automate this process as much as possible?

    Thanks, -John

You can set most of the metadata with the DSP Effect ID Tag processing, set to fixed fields, however Batch Ripper will not use these fields to create filenames (as they are set after).

Can you offer some more help on what settings can be used to automate this project?

Ripping the 2nd disc overwrites the first disc's files.

I can batch edit the Tags with Mp3tag after Batch Ripper rips the CDs, but how can I set it up so the file names will tell me which files match which disc?

You can set the naming to:

        [unique] [track]

Then use after Ripping all CDs the Utility Codec 'Arrange Files' to rename based on existing ID Tags.
