Nimbie Questions

I'm likely going to purchase a Nimbie to replace my Baxter. I've got a new, limited edition, box set I want to rip, without damaging (in addition to about 6 months of purchases waiting to be ripped.)

I've got a few questions about NB11.

1: How does the loading mechanism work? It isn't an arm, I presume some sort of gravity feed.

2: Is it possible, or how often does it load 2 or more discs? Is this more or less likely to happen than an armed robot? I didn't have a good experience with the Baxter.

3: Can I install my own drive? I'd like to move my trusty plextor into the nimbie. Is this possible?

4: Is there anything else I should know about this unit?

Also, is there bundled software for the Nimbie Lightscribe feature? If so, how is it?

You would have to ask datatronics the manufacturer of the nimbie.

I can answer the first one , it is gravity feed.

I've been using the Nimbie and I like it. As Spoon mentioned it is gravity feed. The issue isn't so much the initial load, but making sure when it ejects the CD that it falls into a secure area. Other than that, it just keeps on chugging along. I've probably only ripped about 300 CDs, but I haven't had any significant issues. Even though the drive is inside, you can reach inside the top of the unit to manually eject the disc if it gets stuck in the drive.

I received the Nimbie today and I really like it, and I would like to use it with dBPoweramp, but I just cannot figure out how to get the initial CD to load. I am able to use the Nimble with other software, but so far I have not figured out yet how to get that first CD to load when using dBpoweramp. Any suggestions?

You need:

Batch Ripper software
Nimbie Batch Ripper driver from the beta section of this forum.

I did want to follow up and say that I have used my NB11 a little now and am enjoyinng it. I have not used it much in the 5 months since I bought it. It is a nice unit and seems like it will be more reliable than my old Baxter.

There have been a couple of hiccups getting it to work, but these were not DBPA/Batch Ripper related, but resolved quickly by Acronova and by Broadex (supplier of software for Acronova.)
