Trouble with Selective Play function in dMC

    Hi

It's hit or miss, but most of the time the Selective Play tool throws out this error message and then does nothing:

"Selective Play Settings Exclude All Tracks"
Then there's an OK button and I have to click it.

But then sometimes if I tick the boxes next to an artist or two and then hit OK it selects those artists and all is well....

    What's the deal?

Perhaps I don't understand how to use the Selective Play tool.....

My goal is to use it to quickly create playlists based on either Artist or Genre.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    cheers

Hmmm, so what you are saying is that if you do not select anything, you get an error message that selective play cannot play anything because nothing is selected, but if you select an artist or two, selective play works because it has something to work with.

Well, isn't this pretty much what it is expected to do? Perhaps I misunderstand your problem.

Yeah, this tripped me up for a while, too, when I tried to burn cd's for my kids. You have to select at least one entry from the Artists page. If you want ALL of your Alternative tunes on your playlist, for example, just select ALL of your artists and ONLY Alternative (in all desired incarnations) on the Genre page.

I was looking for my self-created Kid genre at the time. Multiple genres and exclusions still trip me up, though. Can't quite catch the logic, there.
