Try running the routine here to restore your original settings:
    A. Some setting has changed that does not agree with your computer, run this to refresh dAP to the factory install setting: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dAPResetAll.exe

Even better would be to upgrade to the current beta version of dAP (version 3.6)
    available here:
This is Release 3 beta 6, highlights include: Crossfade on Skip, support for 24 bit audio, DSP effects. dAP has been updated with a major new feature - syncing with a portable device (as handled by Sveta). Under 'Collection' button is a 'Synchronize with portable player', select the player and if necessary set also a

If this continues to ocur, can you tell us more about the circumstances in which these crashes occur (formats of the files you are trying to play, whether these files will play in other programs, the frequency, number of channels, bitrates of the files you are trying to play, whether these happens with one, a few, many or all files).

    Best wishes,

      :smile2:
Follwed instructions to delete registry entry and dBpower

      Folder (C:\Programs\Illustrate\dBPower)

      Note:
      Folder contained my dAPKeyControl.dll
      (Mp3 license that cost me $ 14.00 - Whew!!!)
(Which fortunately would not delete.... BECAUSE I ...Duh still had folder open)
I saved by dragging to my desktop and after installing my

Music Converter I drug it back there before installing the

dAP-r3- beta6 you provided link to which I had found

shortly after registering/posting. I configured to my

      liking and restarted my computer.

      EVERYTHING works great again!!! :smile2:

Just wanted you to know that this problem occured right

after I started uninstalling bad skin from a "Skin Designer" - 'Nikesh' he called softskin. I got it pretty hard.
      Thanks Again

Re: dBpower AMP 2.0 (..encountered problem...)

Thank you for the report. I have not had any problems with Nikesh's Soft skin myself. There could have been a faulty download perhaps.
The first link I gave for re-setting dAP (dBpowerAMP Audio Player) will clean dAP's registry but should not require you to enter the registry yourself. It's way more painless than the same operation in dBpowerAMP Music Converter.

In any case, I'm glad you have things working again.
        Best wishes,
        and Happy New Year,
        Bill
