    Arrange Files Doesn't Quite

I'm trying to rearrange an MP3 collection of about 10.2k files but dAP doesn't quite achieve it. The tracks are currently arranged as per the file creation string: [artist]^\[artist]\[artist] - [track] - [album]. I'm trying to rearrange them as per the string: [album]^\[album]\[artist] - [track] - [album].

dAP is correctly arranging most of them. For example tracks from the album Changebowie are in a folder called ..C\Changesbowie but it's not doing all of them, for example tracks from Ziggy Stardust are still in ...D\David Bowie. The tags are correct, i.e. dAP correctly recognises the album name.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

(Merry Christmas BTW. You'd think I'd have something better to do today wouldn't you!)

is it "Ziggy Stardust" or "The Rise and the Fall of Ziffy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" ? maybe this other is too long

are you sure you ID tags are rewritten? maybe they are just stored in MMC, and I don't think dmc reads mmc... of course if you ripped with it than the tags must be ok... anyway check it in file properties...

(BTW what's wrong with playing with music on Christams )

Yes, it is Ziggy Stardust and both tags and MMC are correct. That was just an example of one MMC hasn't arranged properly, there are quite a lot more.

Nothing wrong with listening to music but I was messing around with MusicBrainz.

If another program has the files open that would cause it not to move them.
