I have downloaded some mp3 files from the web. When trying to play them back I get only silence. Windows propeties say they are 80 kbits per sec, 22050 Hz, stereo. But they can't be. For example I have one that has one song in it for about 4:40, but it says it's 16 min long. I'd like to be able to change what the bitrate header information says. How can i do that? I've downloaded lots of shareware, and none of them can do that.
bad mp3 files, how to edit bitrate settings, etc?

Re: bad mp3 files, how to edit bitrate settings, etc?
well I would say that the error is in the files, I maybe wrong, but I heard a lott about false files circulling around, especially in the share networks, like shaereza or such...
of course you maybe just had problems with downloads or something... then the files are probably faulty and must be redownloaded, but I'm not sure...
