    CD playback "skips"

I have encountered a problem with all my audio playback applications - when a CD is played in either drive (CDRW, DVDRW), it "skips". Sounds like little bits of data are being ignored every second or two.

This only happens during playback - ripping to file is no problem - plays back fine. Burning is no problem - end up with a good product that plays fine on CD players. I also noticed that the audio track in a movie had the same problem.

Is this a driver problem? Could installation of dbPowerAmp products or other DVD/video software have caused a conflict?

    At a loss.

    Re: CD playback "skips"

You might check LtData's post in this thread:
I recently reformated my hard drive and reinstalled the converter. Ever since, all my rips to WMA Lossless 9.1 have either small "pops & clicks" artifacts and worse skipping occurs in many of the songs. I've never had this problem before. Any suggestions???

and/or the FAQ on this topic (on which the above post was based) in the dAP section of the Forum here:
I recently installed a new large hard disk drive, it contained my music collection and was set to a slave drive on the primary IDE channel. I also noticed after adding the new large drive (there was a smaller one there before) that clicking and other disturbances were present on audio playback, these were not there previously.

If this doesn't help, please let us know.

    Best wishes,
    Bill
