    dbPowerAMP and Windows Vista ...

    Hi all,

As I'm testing Windows Vista Beta, I tried running my favorite music player under October 2005 Windows Vista CTP (build 5231) ...

    But it won't run ...

dbPowerAMP Release 2 will load OK, only few display bugs when I activate equalizer window ... but it crashes as soon as I start playing any file.

dbPowerAMP Release 3 Beta 6 wil not even load ...

If you are interrested in validating dbPowerAMP under Vista, I can help with tests ...

    Regards,

    Eric.

Funny I cannot even load visa as my SATA drives do not have the right drivers...so it is premature to say the least (do not expect vista release any time next year, 2007 I am thinking).

ah when the time comes for a final release maybe dap wil work with no problems, being that in the beta test not all backward compatibility is finished... on the other hand maybe it'll need a new beta to work under vista, but I still think it is premature for any serious work for vista, being as I said it is not done yet.

Indeed MS are about to rip out the multimedia code from vista and replace it with new code...

Yeah...At the moment, Vista sucks at multimedia. Just try running any Unreal powered game on Vista and you'll hear how bad the audio plays...It's like OpenAL doesn't even exist, as if surround sound hasn't been invented yet, if you know what I mean, gamer-nerds.

well sourand sound exists in other areas of computers not only games you know
anyway for me it is logical to put this on the end of the development line...
