    Music Collection No Longer Functions

I've had dbpoweramp for quite some time and am quite pleased with it. However, yesterday the music collection, and only the music collection, stopped working. When I try to open it, it opens and then closes a few seconds later. I reinstalled the Player but the problem persists. Although the player works if I click on a music file, it closes after that song, and won't play my collection randomly as it always has. Any ideas?

Have you tried the latest dAP beta, linked to below?

Yes, I did...that didn't fix the problem, and in fact, I was getting one of those Windows error report messages when I tried to open the player with it, so i reinstalled release 2.

You might want to run the routine mentionned in this link here (assuming you have not already done so) to reset dAP to original specifications. This should help if you've developed a glitch in the program.

        A. Some setting has changed that does not agree with your computer, run this to refresh dAP to the factory install setting: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dAPResetAll.exe

        Best wishes,
        Bill

I have a possibly similar issue, though it's with the beta version. When adding large numbers of files to the music libary the program will crash with an error that EDITOR.EXE caused an error and needs to close. I have a Debug/End choice. It also happens when synchronizing.

Did you try running the dAP-reset routine? Or maybe uninstalling dAP and reinstalling?

It will be one bad audio file that is crashing the adding of the files.

How would I recognize a 'bad' audio file?

                  Thanks for the help!

Try adding the files in groups of 20 files or so until it crashes again. Then, with that group, do groups of 5, then 2, and then one by one until you find the culprit file. See if you can listen to that file in another player. If not, its apparently corrupted and probably should just be deleted.
