    Quemaster Fails to Start

    When I attempt to start Quemaster, the following error block is displayed:

    "Exception EFOpen Error in module quemaster.exe at 00012ADF. Cannot open file Quemaster/history.txt".

    I checked Program Files>Illustrate>dbPowerAmp>Quemaster and found the file history.txt in that folder. quemaster.exe is present in the main folder Program Files>Illustrate>dbPowerAmp

      Have you been using Quemaster before and this just started?
      Are you trying to open Quemaster through your destop icon or through Start>All Programs>dBpowerAMP>Quemaster.exe?
      What Windows version are you using?

      The locations of the history.txt file and of quemaster.exe seem right. I would recommend trying to uninstall Quemaster (through Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs), reboot and reinstall.

          I have a similar problem, in that mine crashes with a "Please tell MS about this problem..." screen. Both this prog and dbpoweramp are installed in the default directory. I have used the desktop icon and the start menu icon.

          I am running a fully patched version of XP. I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled with the same results...

          I am using the latest version of dbpoweramp. Also, I'm a first time user of QueMaster...

              When you say latest version, do you mean release2 or the latest beta?

                  I downloaded a file named QueMasterInstall13...

                      I was referring to your version of dAP. The latest dAP beta is linked below. Uninstall QueMaster, install the new dAP, then reinstall QueMaster and try again.

                          Oh! Sorry...

                          I'm using release 11 of the dBpowerAMP. I didn't realize that quemaster only worked with experimental software. Someone should really note this fact, it might save people some time and trouble.

                          Pls forward a "thanks for nothing" to the quemaster author...

                              When Spoon releases a dMC or dAP beta, they aren't necessarily what you consider "beta" software. It just means he is adding features and quashing bugs and its not quite ready for an official release, whether due to files needing updating or a few things need fixing.
                              I have used the dAP and dMC betas for a good long time and have NEVER had either of them crash on me. We recommend everyone use the beta versions, especially the dMC beta, as there are a decent number of bugs that are fixed and a few new features that are added. Could it hurt to try the betas? If you don't like them, you can always go back to the official release.

                              As for QueMaster not working, I just suggested you use the dAP beta, that may or may not fix the problem. I've never personally used QueMaster, so I can't really specifically help if the problem is with that.

                                  hmm these problems seem a bit odd... what can I say...

                                  no QueMaster should work with any version of dbpoweramp, meaning it shouldn't matter if it's release 3 or release 3 beta6. if this keeps occuring I will have to make a quick patch (like ver 1.3.1 or somtething).

                                  I am sorry for the inconvience you experienced with the software. I don't knwo why it whon't load the file, it is only needed in the about box, so I am a bit puzzled.
                                  I will do some testing and will let you know.

                                  and TarkusShakti, you are "welcome for nothing" ... this program is something I do in my own time, just because I like programming, without any profit, and I'm letting people use freely the software just so that they can use dbpoweramp with more features...

                                      I can report that I have successfully installed and run QueMaster 1.3. I have never had a problem with earlier version either whatever version of dAP was installed.

                                          QueMaster not working for me either. Wants me to report the error to MSoft.

                                              OK, I will have to investigate more - yes it is a stupid mistake that whe the file is not found it does crash totally and will be fixed, - but it should not happen anyway...

                                              try the previous version:

                                              I didn;t have much complaints about that one...
