Using keyboard shortcuts without window up

I was looking into the version changes thing, and read this:
Compatible with keyboard Play, Stop, etc buttons. Fully customizable keyboard control, both locally and globally (from other programs). Plays Audio CDs. My Music Collection automatically links into the MusicMoz database! Export MMC.

Does this mean I can control dbp AMP without opening the window via keyboard shortcuts? If yes, how?

    Thanks

Yes, you need to make shortcuts that have "Ctrl-Alt" in them. Like Ctrl-Alt-Home for pause, Ctrl-Alt-Ins for Play, Ctrl-Alt-End for Stop, etc. Global keys are awesome.

Edit: Keyboard Shorts can be found in Start --> Programs --> dBPowerAMP --> Configuration --> Keyboard Control.

So there is no way to do it without "ctrl"? Or can it be something else, like "space" before? like "space-g"?

      Thanks,
      - Erik

EDIT: now that I review the program, it does not apear so. Is there any plugin that allows me to do this?

      Thanks,
      - Erik

For Global Hotkeys, as they're called, you HAVE to use Ctrl-Alt-<key>. You can specify other keys if you don't mind always having to bring dAP into focus. Plugins won't help. Even for Winamp, you have to use Ctrl-Alt-<key>.

        Edit: moved to dAP Support.

Think about it this way, eewt. If you could activate the hotkey by pressing <space> + G , then you'd be screwed over if you were typing something up, like right now, in this post that I'm making.

Actually winamp with plugins you CAN do this. I would like it because I want to use it while playing a full screen game, but do not use a 3 key combo. What I used with winamp was insert, home, page up, end, and page down, keys I never use while ingame.

But now I found that foobar2000 can do this.

But thanks for your help, I will continue to use your CD ripping software, and keep up the good work!

Yes, you COULD use just insert, home, page up, etc., but those could interfere with in-game functions. But, whatever floats your boat.

you can override these by conecting the control freak (separate download) apps with shortcuts... find a program that can map the keybouard (I use girder) and direct it to these exe files... it should work...
