    very confused!

I am trying to rip a protected audio file in mp4 format from a cd. I think I installed the proper codec according to your instructions on the forum. but I get this message:

"The CODEC required to decompress '\\CdRom\Track01.cda' could not be opened.
.CDA files can only be converted from a CD Drive, not a hard disk."

    PLEASE HELP

The indication is that it is an ordinary audio cd track, not a protected audio file.

Now why does it think it's on a hard drive? Are you pointing to the actual cd drive?

I think it's looking like the cd rom drive is on another computer on a network? is that possible? I don't think it will work if you're using a network drive in this manner.

What program are you using? dMC or dMC Audio CD Input?
