I don’t know if this was covered before, but I recently installed DAP and every time I played Cds, it crashes. I started to play with the audio cd rom configuration and nothing. Everything was unsuccessful until I went to the IDE controller settings in device manager and set the Cd rom transfer mode to PIO mode instead of DMA. You should left all hard disks as DMA but the Cd rom it should be set at PIO. Since I did that, the cd player works like a charm. I am using XP and my IDE controller is a Nforce 3 parallel ATA controller (2.5v). Note: Make sure your IDE hard disks are in the primary / secondary channel using ULTRA DMA 5 - ULTRA 100 and just change the CD ROM transfer mode to PIO MODE (where the Cd rom is installed only). Hope this helps somebody.

Re: Problems playing Cd's ???
Actually, with me, if I have my DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive set to PIO mode, I cannot listen to ANY audio when doing anything involving the CD drive. It probably depends on a variety of issues, but it is a good way to check to see if there's a problem.Lt. Data
