    bitrate reading

    [SIZE=4]Hi guys,

I've been using dB for quite some time now (3-4years or so). While I always test others, I always come back.

    I'm using Release 3 Beta 6 w/ 48kHz resample on and the EQ tweaked with a SPL meter. (So I'm a freak, kimme a kiss :komisch9: )

I think dAPResetall program is genius it's saved my sanity more than once..

    On with my problem..

I recently f*cked my harddrive and lost over 7500 mp3's. I retrieved 2k, (some with no labels) and decided to start over and go the mpc route. Not only for better quality, but it encodes so friggen fast!

I use EAC with accuraterip to copy and encode using musepack alpha 1.15 and Replaygain afterwards w/ Foobar. (I know -sacrelidge- but again, I'm freaky that way.)

I downloaded the new musepack for dAP today, and now not all the songs I've ripped today have a bitrate asscoated with them in dAP as well as the sound quality being less transparent (more like mp3).

Any ideas why? Is there a new encoder out there? Why is all my previous stuff fine but not all the new (no settings have changed).

Should I uninstall the codec and reload the old one?

Any mpc codec should decode the sound correctly. I could be a seeting you have in dap.

      But only on some songs?

It's just some songs have no bitrate associated with them, and they don't sound as good. I'd re-rip them but their's no telling if it'll come out right till I add them. It seems like a lot of work, I'd like to fix that before I go forward.

      Any ideas?

Try disabling any DSP effects in dAP.

First, I wanted to thank you for your attention.

I tried with and without DSP effects. No difference. I'm going to go ahead and clear the library and reload it. Perhapse it was just a glitch. I've been avoiding it since I'm up to 3500 songs.

Now, I noticed that a song with no bitrate in the MMC bitrate calumn still has one in the popup of the song. It just shows no bitrate in the player while playing and sound quality is lacking. (but not horrible)

            OMG - I am such a j-off

Reloading the list (adding the entire file) got me all bitrates. It seems I'm having problems when I just search for new files.

Also everytime I try to load new songs (either by search for new or load file)to MMC, at the end of the load I get two error messages.

X Track(s) were not added because they existed already.

            --and--

X Track(s) could not be added - possibly due to lack of disk space.

The folder only contains only music or playlists and there's around 100G of unused space on the disc.

Any ideas? Should I move all the playlists to another folder?

            Again thanks for your time.

Check that you have not got an option on to move the files that are added (Arrangement Prefference).

Once again you have proved to be the man. That was it. No more error messages. Never reallized that it could cause a conflict like that.

                Thank you.
