DBPowerAMP Player Will Not Advance to Next Song

All of a sudden...... DB will not advance. Well, it does after some songs, but for no reason will "stick" and not advance after others. Appears to be very random. I have to click the -=> (next track) to hear another song.

    Any ideas??

    Welcome to the forum Denman.

My first thought would be to ensure that the Random button is activated and that you're using the My Music Collection feature by which dAP selects your music from. You might also check to see that you're not in the Selective play mode with the possibility of options from the Selective Play menues inadvertently being left unchecked (i.e., Artists, Genres, etc).
These are the things that come to mind that could cause dAP to stop, especially if you're using playlists or enquing from Explorer Folders.

If you're still having problems you might specify what version you are using, your version of Windows and anything else that may be pertinent. There are plenty of nice folks here willing to help.
    Best wishes.

Re: DBPowerAMP Player Will Not Advance to Next Song

I have the same problem. It seemed to start occurring after my 30 day trial ran out (DMC version 10.1 from SvetaPortableAudio-r4.exe). I deinstalled the programs and then reinstalled with the registered version of DMC (dMC-r11-Registered.exe). Maybe I did the deinstall incompletely or in the wrong order or something.

I was using the dAP-Skin-GoldenAmp.exe skin originally with the trial, and when I first reinstalled dBPowerAmp, it tried to load the skin although the skin wasn't reinstalled yet (something still in the registry?), and a crash occurred. I am not trying to use the skin any more until I fix the problem, but am wondering if this event has anything to do with it.

Anyway, I have tried deinstalling and reinstalling several times and I have the same problem. I have even used the dAPResetAll.exe tool and manually cleaned the registry myself between deinstall and reinstall. PowerAmp either stalls at the end of tracks and refuses to advance to the next song in the queued list, or it gets stuck and repeats the last few ms of the song to infinity. Sometimes it works okay (50% of the time ish) and sometimes it doesn't.

      I have windows XP Pro
DMC version 11 (registered with powerpack)
      dBpowerAMP-r2.exe

I am NOT using any selective play or random track play.

I have old copies of dMC (Sveta-r2) from 2003 and dBPowerAmp_r1, so I am thinking of going back and trying these instead. (They work fine on another windows XP PC I use at home).

Are you using the latest dAP beta version?

I am not using the Beta version as far as I am aware. It is the standard dBpowerAMP-r2.exe file from the website (20 march 2003?). It's size is 1986kB.

I've just deinstalled all components, then done a reboot, then cleaned the registry of all dBpowerAMP components. I also cleaned an entry I found at My Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\dbExplorer Shell.exe. Also I deleted the Progam Files/Illustrate directory. I'll leave it for now, and try reinstalling everything from scratch again after another reboot.

I, too, I am having the same problem. I'm using the beta (3.6) and DMC 11. It will stop random play after 2 songs (sometimes after 1 song). I installed the beta without uninstalling r2. Yes, random is on, not selective. Any thoughts?

Make sure crossfade + gapless is off. And try the other output to method (dap menu >> amp)

                  Spoon-

I switched output to Direct X, and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the help!

                    Spoon & Pug Dog,

I had the same problem with Windows 2000, dbPowerAMP r2, DMC r11. Switching to DirectX output cured my problem.

                    Thanks.

I had the same problem but the beta corrected it... Maybe I did change to DirectX output somewhere along the line though

FW: DBPowerAMP Player Will Not Advance to Next Song

I occured this problem AFTER downloading the new (well, EXTREMELY, since I had like.. version 3) of the dAP Music Converter. I turned random play on, and I turned crossfade on. I don't seem to be getting any problems anymore.

I'm still having this problem; I've tried all the versions of dAP and I'm having the same bad result every time.

Try dmc r11.1 beta, switch off any crossfade or gapless, change the output method in dap menu >> amp >>
