dB Power AMP Audio Player crashes on start

I downloaded and installed dB Power AMP this morning. When attempting to start DB Power AMP audio player, Windows ends the startup with the dreaded message about a problem that should be reported to Microsoft. The details message is: AppName: amp.exe, AppVer: 4.0.2.0, ModName: amp.exe, ModVer: 4.0.2.0, Offset: 000252b7.

I did not install in the default directory. Thinking that might be a problem, I uninstalled, then installed in the default directory. However, I still get the crash of the player on startup. :cry:

I am running Windows XP Home, service pack 2.

Did you download Release 2 or the latest beta of Release 3? Try installing the beta here:

I installed the beta, and it worked fine. Thanks for the suggestion.
