    Windows Media Player Required?

It's taking up an awful lot of space, and I was just wondering whether it's okay to take it out..I have the Windows dB codec installed.

    Re: Windows Media Player Required?

You might find Windows stops you uninstalling it, or if you manually delete it Windows will popup an error about system files need restoring - it is all Microsofts Anti competitive push to get thier media player as number #1 (very bad tricks!).

Microsoft will have to start selling copies of Windows XP without the Media Player in Europe from next year.

          You don't understand

I KNOW HOW to eliminate WMP without any kinks..it's a special program from litepc.com..but my question is does db rely on it in any way?

well it all depends if this program deletes the codec from the system (or any parts of it)...
