    stop button?

Is there a reason why there is no "Stop" button on the player?

I noticed a couple threads that were close to this question but not really on it.

The pause button is fine for its function but its use is in case you want to
resume playing from where you paused it. A stop button not only stops the
music but resets to the begining of the music (and the slider is reset also).

When i test the recording level (Aux-converter) and then pause the player
there is a problem in getting the slider back to the beginning of the song. The
slider has a tendency to not remain at the beginning of the song so a drag
and drop is needed (after starting the recorder). A stop button would insure
that the player is at the beginning of the music when the recorder is started
and eliminate the need for a drag/and/drop .

    thanks,

Oh, shoot! I meant to check this out and now that I have a new skin for dAP it actually has a Stop button and I cannot see how the old one looked without changing the skin again.

If you want a more comprehensive skin, look in the skins section of the forum and pick one that is more to your liking. I use Studio and it's quite comprehensive.

Yes, thats what i wanted. It help to have the music return to the beginning
when the stop button is pressed, specially when converting.

          thanks,

When I'm trying to record with the Auxiliary Input from dAP, I usually enqueue the song I'm going to record twice. Once to set the level. The second for recording.
I also want a part of dAP that will always display on top so that I can have access to both Aux and dAP buttons at the same time without one of them coming to the top and hiding the other.

You can use the Mini remote from any skin, or use the bigger "dAP Remote" on "The Studio" skin which is set to display on top of everything else.
(Not to be confused with "StudioPro" which will not display on top).
I find using this combination works best for me when I need access to both buttons at the same time.

              Hope this helps.

                Re: stop button?

I can see your point. The test level window needs to be movable tho. Its
presently locked into place in the screen center.

I dont test the level across the complete song so using a stop button gives me
more control in reducing any quiet time at the beginning of a music piece. There
can be 4,5,6 seconds of quiet time before any sound is heard. So between the
record button and a stop button i can reduce that to 2 or 3 seconds. Not much
but still, quiet time is wasted space.
