Scopes, VU's Hesitate During CD Play

It's very seldom that I actually play a CD using dAP. (We all have MMC). :D
But when I do, I've noticed that the scopes and/or VU's always hesitate or drop out briefly many times during the course of playing a file.

Has anyone else noticed this happening?
Of course, maybe its another bug w/ '98SE.
Whatever, I've seen it since first joining in 2002. Just never posted.
Not a big deal. Just curious.

    Thanks.

With dAP? Or both of my CD drives?
      What's the cure? Thanks.

I think there is no cure...

when you have a slower computer, sometimes when you are reading a data cd while playing music, it takes over too much procesor time, so you get crackles in music...

it is more, or less OS problem... I think maybe linux can be a cure

Thanks, but my computer is not slow. The music never hesitates or 'crackles'. Only the scopes and/or VU's...and only while playing a CD. But I do know what you're saying.

I realize that '98SE doesn't have the ability to refresh system resources on its own like XP. But then again, I don't allow any programs to start up when Windows starts. I don't have all of the typical junk starting up like a typical Dell XP system with high speed processors.

And I can get to most programs and be working long before XP can even open the program.

It does it in XP also, just how dAP is setup.

Thanks Spoon. That's all I needed to know.
