Song loads automatically when start-up player

When I start up the Audio Player it loads and starts a song right away. How do I stop it from loading and starting? Where it just loads the audio player and nothing else.

    Also,

After the same song ends, noted above, my computer locks up. I tried both the stable and beta versions and I am getting the same results.

    I am running

    WinXP Pro
    Compaq
    Gig ram

    Thanks for the help!

I am not sure what you are referring to with your first issue. Are you saying that you don't want it to start playing when you open it up? Or are you not wanting it to open up and start playing whenever you fire up the computer? I ask only because you seem to be asking the first and it is the second that people most often ask about. If you don't want dAP to open up playing you should be able to do this by turning off your Random Play feature and making sure that you don't have tracks EnQueued in MMC (My Music Collection) when you close dAP. However, this will effectively also cause dAP to stop playing at the end of each track unless you queue up some tracks or load a playlist (or you turn on the Random Play feature again).

If, instead, you are concerned about dAP starting up every time you start the computer-you can turn off that feature through Start>All Programs>dBpowerAMP>Configuration>Install Options.

As for the second issue, you might try these tips from Spoon addressing a similar problem:
"You might want to try dAP Options Menu >> Amp and select the other output method. Also make sure the Crossfade and gapless options are switched off on the 'Multiplayer' menu incase your sound card cannot handle 2 streams." The two output methods Spoon is referring to is DirectX and Wave Out.

I might also ask what versions of dAP and dMC you were running when this problem occurred. But try the above and see if those help first.

    Best wishes,

      Hi

      Sorry should of explained further...

What I needed was when the actual 'Player' started up from the Windows menu...not boot up. I tried your suggestions and they worked great!

      Thanks
