audio cd input isnt reading one particluar CD

i have a dell gx260, windows 98. The audio cd input isnt reading one particluar CD. no track listing appears. i have read, found and installed all the updated and appropriate software as described in the troubleshooting page for windows 98. The CD is a soundtrack and farily new. I dont know if its a cd-r or something. the ripper reads all my other cds just fine. any ideas why this may happen.

it might be a copy protected cd?
