Re: How To Remove the Audio Player from the system?
Go to your Control Panel, Open it, Select Add/Remove Programs, select dBpowerAMP and delete it. If you do not wish to reinstall, you can also delete any skins you have downloaded. If this is your only dBpowerAMP product, then go ahead and delete any dBpowerAMP codecs you have. If this is all you want to do-stop right here.
If you are wanting to uninstall and then reinstall the dB Audio Player, you might want to remove any program components from the registry as well. If you are not intending a reinstall then you don't need to worry about this step. To remove dBpowerAMP items from your registry, click on Start, Click on Run..., and type regedit in the space that says "Open". Browse the directory on the screen to your left to and select and open My Computer (if it is not already open), select and opn HKEY_CURRENT_USER, select and open the folder that says Software. If the dB Audio Player is the only dB product you have find the folder that reads Illustrate, right click on that folder and delete it. If you do have other dBpowerAMP components (like the Music Converter) then open the Illustrate folder, open the dBpowerAMP folder and select and remove the dAP-KeyControl folder and the Skin folder. Then, if you are feeling very plucky, you could select the dBpowerAMP folder and, browsing the list of files on the right side of the screen, select and delete any items pertaining solely to dAP. But be VERY VERY CAREFUL because many of the files here pertain to other dB programs. ANYTHING YOU DELETE THAT BELONGS TO ANOTHER PROGRAM COULD CAUSE THAT PROGRAM TO CRASH (you have been warned). If I were to do this, I would delete those files starting with dAPNextLoadSkin through dBVolume, EditorLocked and EditorSelectivePlay, PlaylistEditing, SkinChangeOpt and SkinRandomLen. I would not delete anything else.
But if I was doing an unstall/reinstall I would first try to do it without messing with the registry. Messing with the registry should be used only when you are reasonably sure you need to and you know what you are doing and you are big enough to accept the consequences of your actions.
If it is not to personal a question, why do want to uninstall the Audio Player?
Re: How To Remove the Audio Player from the system?
Better yet, if you want to uninstall and reinstall FORGET ABOUT the registry.
Instead, download this link from Spoon to restore dAP to "factory" ssettings:
