Chronological MMC

Is there anyway MMC can display the entire collection in chronological, ie date added, order?

You should be able to click the "Date Added" title section o fthe column and it will display then in chronological order.

Could you also explain the mysteries of "second sort" in Preferences?...

try it a bit

it is when you for example want to sort by artist, but then by album, not song title, then you put second sort to album....
"smart" options is usually by artist then track name... and when you sort by album then second is track number...
