CONVERTING MP2 to MP3 HELP!!!

my radio shows are recorded in MPEG2 format by the digital tv/radio card i have, when i convert them to MP3 files using DBpoweramp, it converts them, but the finished MP3 file seems to play alsmot as if its in fast fwd mode!!!! i have tried everything i can think of to solve this probelm...any help would be greatly appreciated!!
