dbPowerAmp Release 2!! Getting Too Many Problems

    Hi...

I am a HUGE Fan of dbpoweramp software however the new release 2 of dAP is giving me endless problems :( For example i if i try to save my music collection i get an error saying it cannot save it... Also wheneva i try to en-queue the playlist always freezers.. and if i do en-queue through the actual player then the player frezzers, the same happens whe i do it through the mymusic colleciton thing.

I can also not save a playlist.. other wise that screws up too... I have tryed to get my hads on one of the older versions howeva to no avail.. as my backup ones contail viruses... and NO this is not screwing up 4 me atm because of viruses as i have a fully newly formatted hard drive etc.

I was wondering if you could please add an archive section to the download part of the site so that old versions can be downloaded to..

    Cheers :komisch12
    And thanks

it is always best to use the latest release as the latest has the less amount of bugs.

what is your OS also? win98? XP? etc....

Try the Release 3 Beta 4 and see if that helps with your specific problem.

It is most probable that it is either freezing because:

Crossfade, or gapless is on and the sound card does not support multi streams.
The type of audio files, perhaps a bad file?

              Hey...

No the files are definately bad.. its happening with every single one and i have about 5cds worth on my computer ATM... and unfortunitly no the crossfade and gapless are both not selected..

Any other ideas?? Why is it so hard to put an archive of old versions avalible for download?? I see it on many other sites for other software...

              Thanks again

You ain't a pain, this is all of our concern becuase what is happening to you may happen to us someday. I think it may be a soundcard issue, you may need to see if your soundcard driver is up to date with the latest driver, but keep the latest version of DBpoweramp running, Release 3 Beta 4 is a pretty stable version to be a beta, Spoons Beta's are pretty much better than most full releases, I've found.

Re: dbPowerAmp Release 2!! Getting Too Many Problems

you also mentioned freshly formatted. i know on my PC running win98 if i format windows and install fresh dbpoweramp will not run properly. i eventually realised i had to install some 4in1 drivers for my asus motherboard before things returned to normal.

the problem in my case is running an old OS on a system with newer hardware. there is always something you have to do to get things running properly when you reinstall an older OS system.

hey even i might conceed to having to run XP running beside linux soon

in your case just check you have all the ME updates patched also. it could be something simple missing in the system.

also how big is your hardrive? i had an issue with a 80GIG drive where things would freeze then unfreeze. but once i patched my system it was fine.

just trying to think of things it could be also.
