Audio Player scans instead of playing

Spoon, have run into a problem that no matter what I do, I can't get the Audio Player to work now.

Have completely removed all dBpower componets. Checked registry to be sure nothing left. Shut system down, restarted. Installed the Audio Player from the latest download.

When the player is called up, it just scans thru the files. Does not play them. If you click on a file, it will play. Once it has played, the player just scans and does not select another file to play.

This has just started. It worked perfectly until I tried the 'Tag From Filename' codec.

    Any ideas?

Sound card seems to still be functional. Can play in Windows Media Player.

dBpowerAMP Audio Player was working fine until I tried the Tag File Name. <g> Something somewhere in the Registry must have gotten trashed. Will continue searching this afternoon to see if I can find it. At the moment, I am lost.

Try dAP Options Menu >> Amp >>

set 'output to' the other one.

Change the output. Did not make any difference. Still just runs thru the files.

            Wyndell-
I have had this happen a couple of times on my Windows 95 machine running dAP v.1. If you have the same problem I have had, you may find that you can play music through dAP as long as you put them into a playlist (whose order you can then randomize, if you like).
Anyway, what seemed to correct this last time was to reset my Random and Selective play settings for MMC. I believe I de-selected all of my MMC files, turned off Selective play and turned off Random play and then I reselected (by genre) the files I wanted active and then went back to turn on Random play and it all turned out OK.
            Hope this helps.

Perhaps you have moved your Audio Files, from MMC try 'Collection' Highlight missing files.

The player will play a file, if selected in MMC, or from a directory. However, where it would normally go to the next file, or a randomly selected file and play it, the player just scans thru the files. It will show the stats on the file, then move on to the next. Does not stop.

Have tried this in several different formats. Almost any pattern possible, I think. <g>

Spoon, have now gotten the problem with the Audio Player corrected. Went back thru and removed all traces of anything concerning Illustrate from the system, then reloaded the program. Works perfectly again.

Now.... I have lost the registered version of Power Pack. Is there anyway of regaining that?

Also.... have tried once again to load the Tag From Filename. It is there in the configuration file, but does not show up to use.
