Can't find Sound Card output on my laptop

    Gentlemen,

I was recently issued a new laptop at work. Of course I installed db Audio Player and wanted to connect it to my stereo. The only audio input/output jacks that are visible is one for a microphone and one for a headphone. There is no standard output jack from the soundcard as you would see on a desktop computer. I assume I can't connect that to an Auxiliary input.
Is this true? Do I use the headphone jack?

i don't see any reason why you can't use the headphone out to your line on on your hi fi.

      Razgo,

Would I be sacrificing any audio quality using the headphone out jack?

technically i'm not sure. your description tells me you are just using your laptop to output music to your hi fi player to listen to the music?

if so your ears will tell you how well it sounds. i know different audio cards will produce different sound qualities. it really depends on exactly what you are doing and how important the sound quality needs to be.
