well i wouldn't give up just yet. this tells us wmp is by default looks for multimedia keyboard.

there is probably something in the wmp registry that can be disabled?

Did you ever figure anything out Raz, I'd do it myself, but I'm still a little on the amatuer side and a bit intimidated by messing with the registry.

no note yet. i don't have my multimedia keboard hooked up at the moment. i went back to an old honewell 101 keyboard. but i will plug in my logitech keyboard and see what happens.

Don't worry about it Razgo, I was at Costco today and found a Microsoft Optical Elite keyboard and mouse for $80.00, I got home installed the software plugged them in and now the media keys are working superbly. I LOVE IT!!!! Thanks :smile2:

I have a Microsoft multimedia keyboard. The volume controls used to control the system volume but after installing dBpowerAMP they will only control dBpowerAMP. Even if the program isn't running the keys will no longer control the system volume. Is it possible to dissasociate dBpowerAMP from the multimedia keys?

Reboot, dAP will not control the volume.

For the Compaq PC Check Control Panel for Easy Access Buttons. If it is there you can reprogram the buttons.

Rebooting the computer does work but it would be nice to control the system volume with the mulimedia keys even while dBpowerAMP is open. Is there a registry edit or other fix that will keep dBpowerAMP from accessing the multimedia keys altogether?

Delete the file 'dapkeycontrol.dll' from where dBpoweramp is installed.
