I would love to use my multimedia keys (play/pause, fwd, rwd, stop, etc.) but everytime I push one it activates another program to play DVD's (Intervideo WinDVD). I use a Compaq Presario with a Compaq enhanced 7 key easy access keyboard model #SDM4540UL. How can I get Dbpoweramp to utilize these controls so that I can play/pause and all that other stuff with my keyboard? Thanks to anyone for any help that can be offered.

I dowloaded the control program, but I cannot get my computer to change the keys on the keyboard. It seems that Compaq has the multimedia keys locked or something. I've treid evrything I know to do.Comment

Re: Multimedia Keys not working for Dbpoweramp
I don't know, dAP can work 'out of the box' with Microsoft compatible multi-media keyboards and the 'Freak controls' download are little programs that most other keyboards can run (with their control program).Comment

Re: Multimedia Keys not working for Dbpoweramp
The prblem is that my keyboard doesn't seem to recognize that Dbpoweramp is on. When I push play or fwd on my keyboard when Dbpoweramp is playing, the Intervideo WinDVD program comes on my computer. I think it may be in the windows xp programming somewhere, I've been all thorugh the system trying to figure it out, there must be some way that I can tell the computer that I want the multimedia keys to control Dbpoweramp so I can puase, fwd, rwd, and all that other stuff with the touch of a button. I went to the program to program the buttons for my keyboard, but they only allow me to program the internet keys and not much else. I don't know what to do, I was hpoing that somebody could help me with this.Comment

Re: Multimedia Keys not working for Dbpoweramp
hmmm.... this is the keyboard?
i could only find this info on the driver: http://www.input-drivers.com/drivers/39/39373.htm
i can only guess that because the keys are already assigned to windvd it won't assign to another device.
are you able to assign other keys to make dap work?Comment

Re: Multimedia Keys not working for Dbpoweramp
Yep thats the keyboard right on the money Raz, I've treid playing around with programming it, but there isn't much luck. I think I might uninstall that WinDVD to see what happens, maybe the winDVD program is hijacking the multimedia keys and preventing any other programs from using them. I'll have to wait to find out though, I'm at my fiance's apartment right now and my PC is 40 miles away at home. Other than That I dunno what else to do. The small things seem to aggravate me.
PS: the multimedia keys work perfect on her HP.Comment

if so then i guess you will have to figure out how to stop windvd from taking over when you re install it.
it will be interesting to see the results.Comment

Re: Multimedia Keys not working for Dbpoweramp
Uninstalling winDVD didn't do any good, now when I have Dbpoweramp playing and I push a multimedia key, the windows media player comes on and acts like I want it to do something. I dunno, I'm thinking of giving up! :vmad:Comment
