To start off, let me just say I LOOOOOOOVE dBpowerAMP. It is, without a doubt, the best audio player I have ever used. However, lately it has started crashing. I read about uninstalling and editing the registry, so I tried that. It still kept crashing. I downloaded the dAPResetAll.exe tool. It still keeps crashing. I don't want to have to run resetall every time I want to use my player! Can anybody recommend a fix?

Re: Amp keeps crashing on me
It might be the Skin you are using, or the File type you are playing (one or two corrupt audio files).Comment

Re: Amp keeps crashing on me
I'm running Windows 2000, 1 GB RAM, and I'm playing Mp3 files. I switch between the H20 skin and default, although when it starts crashing it's on default. The audio files always worked before, but after a point (usually after the second time i exit i.e. i open, listen, close, open, listen, close, and it crashes) it refuses to work. It plays a second or two of the music and then... stops. And then until I run the ResetAll utility it'll play one or two seconds of music and stop. I hope that helps enough to diagnose. I'm sick to death of WMP :(Comment

Re: Amp keeps crashing on me
Perhap try dAP Options menu >> Amp
and set the 'output to' as the other option.Comment

Re: Amp keeps crashing on me
FYI: I started this thread under 'Unregistered' and now I'm registered.
OK, here's what happens. I play a song, any song. I then close dBpowerAMP. When I open it again, it stays minimized to the system tray. It may play a second of music, but then it quits. The funny thing is... after I run ResetAll, everything works fine again, but I have to reload my current skin, equalizer presets, and all my options. Here are the options I'm currently using:
Under Options menu:
Amp: Output to: Wave out [Wave Mapper]
Input Selector: Multiplayer
Multiplayer: all default, shouldn't mess anything up anyway
Graphic Equalizer: shouldn't change anything.
Plug-Ins: DSP: 24 Bit
48 KHz Resample
Karaoke
Skins: Default
H2O
Pioneer Skin
Under Install Options:
The only one left unchecked is "Load when Windows starts"
I've installed dBpowerAMP converter, too, along with WMA V9 Codecs.
Hope that helps diagnose whatever is wrong!Last edited by aguptaweb; January 10, 2004, 04:29 AM.Comment

Re: Amp keeps crashing on me
As a test start removing things, switch off all DSP effects. Try creating 10 wave files from your music, create a new collection and just add those, does it crash then?Comment

Re: Amp keeps crashing on me
Restart the PC and it should be fine.Originally posted by aguptawebNever mind. One day after I thought I had it running fine and dandy, it's started crashing again. I open it up and absolutely nothing happens. It just opens in my system tray then exits after 1 second. Anything? Anything?Comment

Re: Amp keeps crashing on me
It was probably the 48 Khz resample effect, that DSP has the tendacy to be very unstable. Cuased me lots of problems, but I've been a Dbpoweramper for a little over a year and I knew that I had no probs until I installed that DSP, so I turned it off, no probs since."It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!" - John Wayne
