    Newcomer

    Hello!
I am new to dbpower music converter. I use it to conver WAV files to MP3.
How can I make the MP3 files smaller?

Also, in my web site, MP3 files are sometimes cut in the middle. At the server the length is right, but the user only receives part of the file.
    Any suggestions...:-)

    Thank you
    Jud

You could try a lower bitrate for the MP3 to lower their size.

As for the file cutting in the middle.. You may have to tell the users to fully download the file before playing it.

      Thank you Ross.
Lowering the bit rate made a difference of 1%....
And dnloading the file first is not user friendly.

Is there a way to encode the the length of the file into MP3?

Also - when to use fixed rate, average rate and variable rate?

The lower the bitrate the smaller the file will be.

How long are these mp3s and what type of filesize/quality are you looking for?

And if your users dont have a connection fast enough to stream off your server then downloading the file first is the only real alternative. There isnt a lot you can do about that unless you supply links for slower connections to lower quality files.
