    Confusion

I'll admit I'm new to the player, though I've been a registered PP user for a few months now. I'm tired of Windows Media Player (and Microsoft in general) and am searching for a new MP3 player. As such, I thought I'd check out dAP.

Problem is, I am totally confused by the interface. I've read though the Help file and it hasn't helped much. Here are some questions. I promise I'm not trying to be a pain, but if I'm going to invest some time in this solution, I want to try and understand it as best I can.

    1. If I have both the MMC and AP open at once, if I close AP both windows exit and music stops playing. Why? They appear to be individual applications, so why do they close together?

    2. Same for the On Screen Mini Control. Why can't they be individually controlled? I keep finding that, after opening the windows, I want just the MMC or just mini control open, yet when I try to close AP, it closes everything.

    3. Also same goes for the tray icon. Usually, tray icons are always there, regardless of whether or not you've quit an active app. Yet, when I close AP, the tray icon disappears as well. I don't understand the thinking behind this. It's as if you only get the Mini Control and/or tray icon in conjunction with the main AP window. What if, after I've configured my playlists and such, I want to close everything up and just use one small window (not AP) such as the Mini Control or tray icon?

I guess my point is, these methods all seem to be reduntant. In other apps that have these functions, I only want to use them on their own, not when I already have the main window open. If I have the main window open, I don't need the other methods.

    4. In the MMC window, is there any way to resize the top and bottom windows so I can, for example, see more of the bottom and less of the top? I've tried grabbing the divider, as that seems most logical, but it doesn't do anything.

Okay, that's it. I'm sorry if I'm coming off super-negative. I do think this is a great solution and I'm surprised it's free. I paid for the Power Pack and would be happy to pay for a good MP3 player as well.

Go into dBpowerAMP>>Configuration>>Install Options and check "Hide when Minimised" and if applicable, "Never in Taskbar".

When you minimise AP, it will disappear off the taskbar, leaving only the control in the system tray. From there you can still bring up the main window by pressing a button.
