i cannot play cds with video

If i try to play an audio cd who has a video on it ,i get a pop-up telling me :

No Audio CD tracks found to play!!

All other players play the cd.
Opening Convertor , the cd is here and i can play it...
Who and where the gost?

i think Spoon is just making sure all his current software is all running smoothly and is bug free as possible before he moves on to video and streaming.

I mean a regular audio cd from the shop with on it one or more video-clip as bonus.
When i put one of this kind of cd in the payer ,i have the problem as i said.

I do not want to play the video ,just the audio part of the cd.
Other players like MusicMatch play them fine.
And Music Convertor see ,play ,rip the cd without problem.

Concerning some video ,i know that i did not install the software needed to read it --ie,Quick player-
Can it be the raison dbPlayer does not see the cd at all?

The problem may reside in how Windows sees the disc. WHen you go into My Computer, Windows probably sees this mixed mode CD as a Data CD for the video. That may be why dAP can't play it, because dAP queues the CDA files of an Audio CD, but if Windows reports only the Data part, then no CDA files can be seen by dAP.

That's just a guess, Spoon would have to confirm.

Good guess that is right! not sure what I can do (dMC can see the tracks) dAP just searches for .cda files.

Maybe implement the same code that is in dMC to read the audio files in dAP and instead of sending to stream to the conversion engine, send it to the soundcard?

I just need somewhere in dAP that can specify the CD drive then it can play them, I will look into it when I get a chance.

The work-around i found for this is to take a regular audio CD (the more tracks on it the better, just so you'll have them if you need them) and generate a playlist pointing to the CDA files on that disc. Then you simply save it as something like "Generic CD Playlist". Pop in your enhancedCD, let the video section start up, exit out of it, open dbpowerAMP, play the generic playlist and it works! no track info will work, but at least you can listen to the disc and use dbpowerAMP.

A bit of a hassle, especially when some wants the CD info, but hey, at least it'll make it work!
