when you say slow, what is it you are doing when it goes slow?

Exactly, the whole computer reacts slow when I for example On Starts click it takes about 15 seconds before the start menu appears. Or when I press Next track in DAP it takes even about 15 seconds before the next track is loaded.

When I close DAP the start menu appears in 1 second.

I have a Pentium III 350 with 128MB RAM which I only use for DAP and I have Beta 3 of DAP.

ok, Spoon would be able to know what's going on there now. in my viewpoint i think it's simply the size of your collection. with a smaller collection it all runs fast and fine? if so then dap must need a lot more cpu and memory grunt to run 21000 music files in a collection in MMC.

i have only run up to 8000, and it was fine.

Yeah, with 1200 numbers it runs fast.

          thanks for your help.

Perhaps a Skin you are using (with lots of displays)?

It shouldn't matter if you have 100,000 tracks they are not loaded in memory (only when MMC is opened)>

                YEAH!!

When I switch to a simple skin instead of mij own made skin my PC is much faster.

Only opening MMC takes 35 seconds, Edit Tag from 1 track it takes even 35 seconds to display the tag info from the track.

                Thanks for the skin tip.

I use a full screen skin that show's big the track name, artist name, remaining track time and 2 VU meters.
Do you have any idea how I can make that without it takes so much from my PC?

I am guessing it is just the VU meters that is causing the slowness, try removing them just as a test.
