DAP just stops

Thanks for creating dab - awesome
just lately mine stops running - halfway through a track - I have downloaded the latest version and this didn't fix it, Ive disk checked the drive the tracks are on - that did nothing and I've run the little ap that resets the registry items (cool idea I thought!)
Then it just stopped again - starts again once you press "play" again.
It would be great to rectify this because the quality rocks

Could it be a 'bad' audio file?

I don't get the same problem with the software that comes with the soundblaster audigy card - just get rat shit sound. Any other ideas?

It happens with the APE files and it happens with .wav files as well

You might want to try dAP Options Menu >> Amp and select the other output method. Also make sure the Crossfade and gapless options are switched off on the 'Multiplayer' menu incase your sound card cannot handle 2 streams.
