Balloon tips on dap bar

When you move the mouse pointer to any of the controls on the dap bar (you know the little version of dap which floats on your desktop), a wee pop up ballooan appears telling you what that buutton does.

This is handy to let you know what the button does when you first use the bar, except it precludes you from clicking the button. When I click I invariably click on the balloon instead, and nothing happens. if I wait the few seconds until it goes away, or move the mouse slightly, all is fine. This is obviously a problem which needs to be sorted out as it doesn't allow for easy use.

I could set the delay for the balloon to be longer, but that it a pain when I actually want a balloon in another app as I have to wait a few seconds.

Perhaps you could force the ballons to appear well away from th button itself???

Yes that's a very good idea, sort of have a dedicated bar where the description appears, just like this forum when you're hovering over the controls

I hope it wouldn't be too hard to implement something like this.

That's strange, the tips always appear above the bar on my Win2K system. I thought it must be screen resolution but I've tried various resolutions and it always appears roughly in the same place.

I do not have this problem on my Win 95 system either. Perhaps the problem lies with Unregistered's system being overtaxed and slowing it up.

I know the answer

I know why... its cause the bar is all the way at the top of the screen .. mine did the same thing.. if you move the bar down.. you'll see that the balloons pop up above the bar and not over the buttons...

I like to keep my control bar at the very top of the screen as well... maybe Spoon can change it so that the balllon pops up below or above the bar depending on its orientation...

It annoyed me too not being able to click the button cause the balloon popped up...
