Lose tags when converting/ripping to OGG

I'm having problems creating OGG files. The files themselves are OK but contain no tags. I have the Preserve ID Tags box checked but must be missing something else. This happens both when converting mp3s and also ripping from CD.

Any help would be much appreciated.

How do you determine they have no tags? some other program or popup info?

If you have the Power Pack make sure there are no 'Tag DSP effects running'
